Your Dream Job

Sometimes, life intervenes when it comes to your dream job and it shows you a different path that you weren’t expecting… I had every intention of being a nurse. Started my studies and really enjoyed it. Part of my studies included doing placement of 200+ hrs in a health care environment. I was doing mine in an elderly facility. One night while sleeping, I got bitten by a spider. I had a severe allergic reaction to the bite and ended up in surgery (No, I didn't end up with superpowers lmao). I had to leave my job at the elderly facility so I volunteered to help in a class for students with special needs. This is where my ‘dream job’ idea changed, because I had never pictured myself as a teacher… They offered me a job teaching this class and so I studied my teaching quals while I worked. Now, I teach a different programme for both mainstream students, and those with special needs. I have been in my ‘dream job’ for 17 years now, and I love every bit of it! (except the marking! lol)
