What it means to be and express your trans identity differs from one person to another. "Some people use dress, behavior, and mannerisms to live as the gender that feels right for them. Some people take hormones and may have surgery to match their gender identity. Some transgender people reject traditional understandings of gender as only between "male" and "female". They identify as transgender, or genderqueer, genderfluid, or something else" (PP).
