Unable to respond in chat and messages

I have registered my account and I am able to see people's chat in the chat rooms and am able to receive private message chats. My issue is that when I try to chat in response and press enter nothing happens. The chat message I typed just disappears. I've tried logging in on Chrome and on Edge and the exact same thing happens. Tried clearing history and browser cache, rebooting my pc etc and I'm still having the same issue. Not using a VPN. Anyone have any ideas?
