Sure, it was highly likely that you'd die in a plague outbreak or a famine, but still, you'd have horses, knights, and chivalry, does the modern world have hose things? Nope.

Nothing floats my boat. It was poorly constructed and sunk after one hour of sailing.

My high opinion of the Middle Ages has considerably lowered as a result of this unfortunate incident.
