Similar to the Haiku thread, let's write some tanka poems!
Tanka poems, which originated in Japan, are short poems intended to evoke vivid imagery and reflection for the reader. They are free verse, so they do not have to rhyme, but must follow specific syllable patterns.
They generally capture a brief moment in time, a feeling, or a specific thought or idea.
Here's my attempt at one to get us started.

Winter's touch betrayed the blush
and her petals fell.
The vibrance of life cast down,
forgotten under our feet.
