How predators work

It's more than just personal information.

The important thing for all users, but especially younger users, is to set boundaries. People will talk inappropriately to younger users and they may feel like they can't say that's not ok -- but they can. They have the right to set boundaries. Sometimes kids don't realize this. Sometimes, adults don't realize it either.

Don't feel bad about limiting who is on your friends list or who can PM you. Don't feel bad about adding people to your ignore list.

Oh absolutely.

Setting boundaries is highly recommended and completely acceptable.
People who dont respect your boundaries are not people you want to associate with at all.
 
one thing i've noticed....people don't speak up

lately there has been a rash of pedo-ish behavior in the chat rooms...and it's been right there in front of everyone to see in the main chat...
i won't go into detail with names or rooms....but those of us in quiz saw it immediately when they came into our room...and myself and a couple of others have spoken up...yet when they returned to their normal room, they carried on the same way they did in front of us...and i can't help but think WHY did nobody in that room say anything? u can't tell me they didn't see it like we did

as the saying goes...IF U SEE SOMETHING...SAY SOMETHING!!!
 
also...i dont understand why chat doesnt simply lock in ages to begin with....and / or lock out adults from teen room and vice versa...and guests as well since a lot of predators slip in there unnoticed or as fake guests

To my knowledge, there is no "age lock" or anything of the sort on the chat. It's likely a feature they'd have to code or request from the developer, if its even possible.

They could restrict guest chatting, but that might take away from their average of new members since people cant try it out before giving their information. Some people also dont have the desire to register and this chat still provides them a place where they can socialize.
 
that would work both ways too! i see kids come in the room all the time that start off 14 then end up 23 and in the adult room...then back to 14 and in teen

I have my ways of figuring things out you have your ways. I know who's telling the truth and I know who's lying but I refuse to expose someone on a large platform I'd prefer exposing people in private messages then going to the owner of the site!

And if I don't know the truth I won't go to the owner. I'm more of a guy who likes to see proof or see it for himself.~
